Yup. They've got their own ffmpeg implementation. I downloaded the latest .deb off the ubuntu repo and extracted the libffmpeg.so. Then I made a symbolic link to it in /usr/lib/opera/ . I am sure it'll break sooner or later (when the version numbers of opera and chromium misalign again), so definitely not recommended as a long-term strategy.
Outright ridiculous how opera and vivaldi totally neglect support for non-Debian systems. I was able to make it work, but had to extract the libffmpeg off chromium-codecs*.deb ....

Hi, thanks for the interest ! It is a Thinkpad X220 , and I am using ThinkPad Mini Dock Series 3. Additional info which I suspect might be connected to this bug:
- I always keep the lid closed when the laptop is docked. I think this is standard practice.
- It is a Display port, and not HDMI. Wrote down HDMI because that is what Raven recognises it as. I have another bug submitted to the budgie community concerning how Raven allows the user to change output from 'HDMI' to laptop speakers, but vice-versa never works.
- If the undocked laptop is suspended by closing the lid, and it is then docked and powered up from sleep (while the lid remains closed), the external monitor just shows a blank screen.

@skmlcd Thanks! I had looked at it, but it seemed more about edges than corners. I'm coming to Budgie from Pantheon, so my workflow rotates around the hot corners.

Hi @ikey could I have a link to the feature request please ? I would like to subscribe but can't seem to find it on the budgie github.

So you think this is to do with the MATLAB installer being geared towards a Debian install rather than the standard Linux directory structure ? If I can just get the location of the icon after installation I can try writing a simple script which sorts out the links and the .desktop.

Prompt and to the point. Thanks! Have got oh-my-zsh up and running now.
Hands down the best player/organiser in the linux world :( But I do understand the need to be up to date w.r.t. Qt libraries. Such a shame!
