I will respectfully disagree and say that I've never experienced any of those issues on the 10 or so laptops I've used it on. This is purely anecdotal evidence of course.
The problem is that no matter how crap TLP is, there is nothing else us laptop users can use to dynamically change power settings right now. Sure, one could probably write a systemD unit or something, but that is beyond me and I think, not the point of Solus. Honestly, one second of my boot time is acceptable to me to have this functionality.

To the devs, I found the issue. The package ppp was missing from my system. You will probably want to make that a dependency of pptp and networkmanager-pptp.

I just saw that the latest NetworkManager wasn't in the repos yet.
Added NetworkManager-PPTP as another task here: https://dev.solus-project.com/T2026
Any update on getting this added? I don't have a choice at this point either, I have to use PPTP for work.

The same can be said for Teamviewer, but you have that as an option. Also, NoMachine has better multimonitor support and many other options that are better or nonexistent in RDP. Just my personal choice.
Remmina and Vinagre are both just clients, they don't include a server component. X2go is fine, but if someone has existing NoMachine servers, then they cannot connect to them with the x2go client, they need the NoMachine client at least. Also, NoMachine server runs on Windows, so if someone wants to connect to a Windows version of NoMachine, they need the NoMachine client as well.
