Re-uploading first patch with fixed Name/Email. This was caused by having env_keep += "HOME" in /etc/sudoers. Will investigate that issue separately.
Fixed issue with Name/Email which was caused by env_keep += "HOME" in /etc/sudoers. Will investigate separately why that's an issue and see if there's another patch.
Would be happy to make it stateless. What were you thinking?

Sorry about that!
Swapped out the hub for another and the issue went away. I'll close this for now as it's not really something I think Solus should pursue, a one-off issue at this point.

This was part of the global DNS outage:

Uninstalled official drivers, reinstalled nvidia-glx-driver along w/ 32bit variant. Cleared any /etc/X11 configs and everything is working again.
I suppose nouveau could've been powering the GPU. I'm too familiar with it and unsure if nvidia-settings is a thing with that driver.
All I can say is that I had X running and a fully working nivida-settings. I'm 99% sure that any other driver would not have provides 1) the NVidia splash screen; 2) ability to run the Pascal architecture; 3) fully working settings interface.
I think there's a misunderstanding...

Output from the journal:
Output from udevadm monitor when the mouse started working. These lines printed after switching the device off, once I switched it on it was working but no new lines printed (FWIW).
