For clarification, while I appreciate you putting the time in to make the patch it's just basically double the cost to maintain two versions of a package, especially, when few things support the new version at this point.

Until they do, I doubt we will create two guile packages unless we are forced to.

I'm fine with passing maintainership over; in the end I'm primarily an Emacs user so having someone more involved with Kakoune package it makes a lot of sense.

Removed erroneous hyphen from package.yml

Removed unneeded deps, fixed install directory location, cleaner make invocation.

Is there anything you can think of that would make things easier?
