Uhm. I guess change the status to resolved since it's an issue with the driver and not the DE. Same for the other one.

As in installing nouveau and removing nvidia-304-glx-driver...?
Installed libvdpau-va-gl, rebooted.
libvdpau is installed, I've created the conf file and added the content. Output:
blm@kolus ~ $ mpv /home/blm/Desktop/InShot_20171006_165639774.mp4
Playing: /home/blm/Desktop/InShot_20171006_165639774.mp4

I've omitted the force flag and now get

I don't have the boss' approval, but mate-sensors-applet isn't used in the default panel setup and is a part of desktop.mate. Similarly, screenshot-applet and haste-applet are in desktop.budgie.

I just installed nvidia-304-glx-driver-32-bit. Firefox stops crashing. I remove it, starts crashing again (on Nouveau). I install the 64-bit driver, stops crashing. I don't get it.

Sorry for necro-ing this task. I'm experiencing the same crashes again. I'm running the latest build of FF.
