I am experiencing similar issues with two ThinkPads. I contributed to one thread in the Forum: https://discuss.getsol.us/d/2949-applications-cannot-launch-from-panel/2 And I found another related thread: https://discuss.getsol.us/d/2850-shutdown-applet-raven-sidebar-unresponsive-after-wake/4

This machine is no longer in my possession, nor can I conveniently pop over to the other side of the country to check it, so I thank @mramish for confirming that this is still an issue.

I just looked at one of the systems that I installed back in January. Back then, obviously, Libre Office was not installed by default, from the ISO. When I manually installed Libre Office from the repo, that procedure did install libreoffice-common-dictionaries to my laptop. But, even though that file was present, the spell check still did not work.

FWIW:
I have a Dell (dude you got a Dell!) laptop with an Intel 7620 HMW -R ac card. I'm currently running Mint w/ kernel 4.4.0-79-generic. Mint doesn't make the 4.9 branch available to me, but I just loaded up the first kernel available in the 4.10 branch, 4.10.0-14-generic and the 7620 wifi card still works just fine with iwlwifi.

Can confirm this same issue on a Lenovo T420, w/ Sandybridge i5 and 8GB RAM..
soffice.bin drives one CPU core to 100% and my CPU reaches 96C in a matter of moments!!!

I have the same dilemma with a Nvidia GTX 780. The current GeForce GLX driver is v375.26, but DoFlicky insists on installing v340.101.

Just a quick comment, as I am experiencing slightly different behavior:

The card reader on my ThinkPad is recognized, but I have to click on "+ Other Locations" to see the content of the SD card ... which does not seem to be particularly intuitive. Perhaps this is causing confusion for some individuals?
Sorry, I'm not complaining about KeepasssX. Keepass (AKA Keepass 2) is the one that I'm concerned about.
