Ha yes, thanks for the precision, the article was indeed about Ubuntu Budgie. On the other hand, libappindicator is in Solus repo and software like Diodon seems to be working fine . So, is it really a requirement for a package request to be accepted that there is no dependence on appindicator?

Is this decision still valid? I have been reading than Budgie got AppIndicator support for almost a year now. I have also been packaging diodon on my own on Solus Budgie and it seems to work fine.
