@WannaBeOCer It works marvelously in games, but the refresh rate flickers like crazy on the budgie desktop. The strange thing is that I have two options for 144hz "144hz (1) and 144Hz (2)". Don't know why tbh. With both option I get the same results.
@WannaBeOCer I honestly don't know what's wrong with my PC. I'll keep trying out to see if I can solve my issues. Do you have any other setting enabled in the nvidia control settings? I might've overlooked something.
I'm also in the unstable repository and both plasma and budgie still suffer from the flickering on desktop. It hasn't been fixed yet. You might have "pipeline composition" and "enable g-sync" in the nvidia settings, but having both enabled disables VRR. Once again, this is what I have observed and I hope a fix comes sooner or later.

It still doesn't work with nvidia (gtx 1660 super). Games work flawlessly but the desktop still flickers (I'm on budgie) due to VRR being enabled. I have also the latest updates according to last Friday's sync. Is there anything that can be done to fix this behavior? Thanks.

I also had this issue before and what fixed it was to disable the existing EFI partition in gparted (remove flags) and enable the target EFI ( in the target drive). Once your new installation is done, enable the flags and it should work properly. You'll have to boot from uefi though in order to select the booting device. Good luck.

I have updates to my issue. I think the culprit is KDE plasma's lock screen. I tried "loginctl unlock-sessions" and I was able to access my session. Is there any fix to this? It's not a big problem for me though I'd like for it to be fixed if possible.

A few days after I posted my previous reply, I decided to reinstall and the issue remains there. I've read that people with non-turing GPUs are not having issues and as I mentioned before previous glx version 440.100 didn't present the same problematic, so my 2 cents are on faulty NVIDIA drivers... but I know nothing, I'm no programmer but a curious linux user willing to learn something new everyday. Thanks for supporting my doubts.

Hey, thanks for answering but I've tried with the three branches offered by the solus team (beta, developer and glx) and the result has been always the same. Something fishy must've happened with my installation and I don't really want to start from scratch. I run "sudo eopkg check" to verify no package was broken and no issues were found. I delete cache and remove orphan packages (dc and rmo) in hopes that some packages had corrupted and messed with something but nothing has changed. I really have no idea what might be happening. I have the plasma version BTW, could it be that plasma is still buggy?
I have a GTX 1660 super and it keeps happening! It works perfectly under windows 10. I now keep getting a black screen and cursor on screen when resuming from sleep. I do not know what might be happening. I guess I'll move to different binaries and try from there.

Isn't it already included in steam proton?

This laptop sports a Synaptics touchpad, more specifically Synaptics TM3336-001 (as provided by xinput under Kubuntu 18.10). Are there any news about integrating it into future kernel iterations? Thanks in advance.
