Ok, good to know that a fix in on its way.
Thanks for taking a look. Been using Solus since 2017 and I can live with tethering for a while.

When the problem occurs, wait a few minutes until the machine shuts down then turn it on again and check the logs of the previous boot with: journalctl -b -1. I guess there should be an error message near the end. If you don't see any relevant error message, try the same command with sudo to get more blah-blah.

Do you have any USB devices connected when it happens ?

Unsupported gradle version 4.5.1 in use. Only version 1.8 is supported. Use this version at your own riskMaybe it is possible to backport this OpenJFX 10 patch http://hg.openjdk.java.net/openjfx/10-dev/rt/rev/0c458c14b6b9

I understand that Gradle is updated very frequently and thus it's cumbersome to keep up with it. Plus, most Java IDEs support the wrapper.

Thank you @sunnyflunk !
Same with freshly booted new Solus-Plasma-But-Like-Slightly-Less-Broken.iso
Except the single user setup I did not change anything.
Thanks, @folcred for confirming!

I tried compiling Cantata from source but even that fails with
Thanks, I tried it but without effect. I even reinstalled Cantata, deleted the config but still the same. Weird thing is that there are other icons instead. For example instead of the menu bar on the upper right, i got a phone symbol.

Define "didn't work".

you can install it via pip but it won't show in the application menu
What is the reason for closing this? I don't want to argue over it but I don't even see the reason given.
