It took me 3-4 days of trying random things and using windows :/ :( for my development work as I wasn't be able to listen to music while working. The sound now works even when I disable microphone. I will see if it happens again and report back on how to achieve that bug again.

The SC still hangs on any kind of third party installation failure. I had clicked the close button and the app has hanged. Can't close it.
