If approved for inclusion, this should probably be placed under Office Software --> Scientific Software. @mangopuncher This programme looks really interesting. Do you know if it works with Chinese characters?

While you are at it, there is a related issue but it could be due to a missing package in Solus (or the fact that I am using Budgie): https://github.com/wireapp/wire-desktop/issues/942
Thanks a lot for looking into this. I've also just raised an issue upstream here: https://github.com/wireapp/wire-desktop/issues/1015
Ah, my bad. Had these screen size issues several times already but don't want to retire the old Thinkpad yet.

Awesome, thanks a lot!
Opened for reevaluation, edited description, updated package request.
Thanks @kyrios123 for pointing to the successor. Ikey mentioned in T3255 that this
needs a replace/obsoletes migration path
@ikey Is it intentional that it is only available by default with the latest ISO or an upgrade path is missing to switch from lightdm-gtk-greeter to slick-greeter?
Closing, somehow found a way to restore this but forgot how.
Apologies, didn't see that this is not yet ready for inclusion. The project looks amazing though.
It's been over a year since I made the request for this amazing game I played during my Windows times and there is probably not going to be a new release. Would it be possible that this game including the older libraries is snapified by the Solus team?
Is there a chance that this game could be snapified by the Solus team to circumvent the missing tarball issue?
@JoshStrobl Would it be possible to set some gschema overrides for it as you have suggested in T4355? I know it is perhaps not as severe as in the other issue but it would nevertheless be more consistent with the default Solus themes.

Yeah, movement has been slow. 0.4.0 is out now: https://github.com/olivierkes/manuskript/archive/0.4.0.tar.gz
It is still tagged as pre-release but looks pretty good.
qtox 1.12.0 is out: https://github.com/qTox/qTox/archive/v1.12.0.tar.gz
Most notable improvements are:
- mass import of contacts from a file
- improvements around images in the chatlog
- experimental audio backend with echo cancelling

I see, is kdepim already ready?
I don't have texlive installed but strangely the initial message disappeared. Would a texlive-lang-german package have to be requested separately?
With slick-greeter the screen content sometimes stays visible despite the screen being locked. Only upon moving the cursor or pressing a key the actual screen-lock appears.

I have changed my entire theme to Adapta-Eta and while it is not perfect (there could still be more space at the bottom), at least the buttons are visible.
Yes, Adapta or Adapta-Eta, just want to confirm because I have another issue with Adapta. See: T4596.
@K.Y Which theme are you using?
Sep 28 2017
Not a clue honestly! But I suspect this will have to happen upstream.
Sep 27 2017
@Justin Thanks for the feedback. I've raised an issue upstream and got the following reply from the developer:
I think it'll be most important to get it fixed at least for the Adapta theme, the current default theme in Solus. I don't care so much about the other themes. Not sure where to engage with them upstream, probably best if one of you can do that. This bug is pretty critical as anyone using the default layout will have problems to use openconnect.
It doesn't work with the following themes:
- Adapta (no buttons visible at all)
- AdaptaNokto (no buttons visible at all)
- Adwaita (only one third of a button visible)
- Adwaita-dark (only one third of a button visible)
- Emacs (only one third of a button visible)
- HighContrast (no buttons visible at all)
- Raleigh (the theme itself is so bad I cannot even see the system tray properly)

I just noticed that there is apparently a snap package in development but which hasn't been updated in a while. How safe is this one to use? The question for me when it comes to snaps is who really maintains these, especially if they are not from the original project itself: https://github.com/snapcrafters/tor-browser
Does anyone have more information on this?
Perhaps related to T1199.
@ikey Would this be something to look at when working on the SC in the coming days?
@ryanwahle Thanks a lot for the massive write-up and tuning into this discussion. I don't know enough about it to actually comment on your suggestions but hopefully more people are interested in such an edition.
Thanks, I see. I totally forgot that the greeter was exchanged. Ikey must have had good reasons to do so and I'd rather not change back if this was due to security reasons. I still hope that there will be some configuration options available or to have slick-greeter come with a centered layout in the future.
I cannot connect to my university network due to this problem and currently only use a very unstable Wifi connection with no access to IRC. Can anyone confirm the missing buttons or am I doing something wrong in getting it to work?
From sudo journalctl --no-pager | grep fsck:

Yeah, but isn't there any option to prevent DNS leaks via OpenVPN for Linux-based operating systems? Or am I getting this all wrong and it is already implemented OOTB without any need to configure this manually?
In order to solve this problem Solus MATE's unique IBus implementation would be necessary...
@balloon Do you know of any packages that are currently missing to achieve this? I am not sure how other non-Ubuntu-based distributions using MATE have solved this.
It is almost impossible to move the slider and when I do, it temporarily freezes the system.
Just noticed the "education" category. Is there a new top-level education category planned or should this ideally be placed under Office --> Scientific Software?
Thanks for packaging!
I am not sure because I don't remember this being an issue in previous Solus installations or on other distributions. I could be mistaken though.
Awesome! Thanks for working so hard for the community and supporting the rise of a major operating system. @kyrios123 and @joebonrichie The Solus development pace never ceases to surprise me. I am just occasionally filing bugs and requesting packages but you guys are actually doing the packaging.
Closing as the problems I've mentioned were not really related to Solus but to problems during a Windows 10 update. As a result of this I cannot recommend dual-booting with Windows 10 anymore and ultimately decided to only run Solus on this machine with a clean re-installation.

May as well award a token for my own package request. This one is badly needed. Zotero has moved to desktop only.
Closing in favour of OnlyOffice. As far as I know, the compatiblity issues I am having with LibreOffice are not going to be solved with Calligra. Feel free to re-open if anyone else would like to make a stronger case for Calligra.
I am jumping on the OnlyOffice train. My LibreOffice is completely unusable at the moment and I have too many complaints from colleagues and friends with compatiblity issues.
@DataDrake Would you be so kind and take a look at this again? I think the previously mentioned library issues are resolved with the new release.
I think Budgie is the best desktop environment for my use case, however, I am still not able to use it anywhere else than on a testing laptop, only because of the IBus issue and German keyboard layouts not working on a laptop with an American keyboard. I know all of this will be solved by the time Budgie 11 is around, but that might take a while. Any chance a temporary fix could be implemented so that some users may migrate to Budgie earlier?
I can confirm that these issues persist, didn't have them while using Ubuntu MATE, so I wonder if there is anything that can be done still.
@Justin On IRC you've suggested to press "e" during boot and add nomodeset. I have added nomodeset at the end of the line but it still reboots. Any thoughts?
