I've discovered this is in fact a missing dependency issue. I installed 1Password via snap, and found that it was not able to start unless called from the command line. The result is below. I googled around, found this forum thread on snaps site, saw the xdg package, thought coincidence, installed it, and now everything is sunshine and roses.

So it is, it didn't populate in the software center for me. I apologize for not searching eopkg before posting.

Thanks, guys! I'll have to read the packaging documentation more thoroughly to better understand the package file. I'll take note of that script for the future. I managed to get to 4 on your list @GZGavinZhao before opening this task, so at least I was on the right track.
