I like Mednafen, but I'm not sure if it's the best gba emulator out there. I read that standalone emulators are better on specific consoles. What are your opinions on this?

Hi @poisey, the correct way to request an update is shown here: https://getsol.us/articles/packaging/request-a-package-update/en/
Please update FCEUX to the latest version. There've been many improvements, according to the developer. Thank you.

For me, Mednafe is one of the best emulators you can find today. It runs very well on my old windows PC. I play SNES games for almost 4 mounts and I have only good words for the Mednafe Emulator. For anyone who doesn't know too much about emulators like me just downloads Mednafen download the ROMs and start playing that's all, you need to know.

@Justin not that I care if optipng gets included, but it's lossless, while pngquant is lossy. Also, zopflipng yielded the best (lossless) results in my testing, though last I checked it was not packaged on Solus.

@DataDrake I couldn't get optipng to get to a decent size, pngquant did wonders.

Got it, removed my comment on the other task as well. I think Devil505's comment should be removed as well because of the license thingy, since it also links to eopkgs.
@abdulocracy I have removed your comment because not only should you not be advertising stuff like that here, but you are also in violation of the MegaSync license agreement by providing pre-built eopkgs.

I would still like to see MEGASync included in the third-party repository.

There is a little bug in mc-4.8.19 on Solus (built with ncurses) : use ALT+RETURN to copy any filename on the command line, it is slow.
Rebuild midnight commander with S-Lang + terminfo, now copying on the command line is fast again.

@DataDrake ah, my apologies, I was not aware of this bit of Solus history.
So to stir diesel onto old flames, saw this crop up on google. This predates the inclusion policy changes by a long long time, and could
very likely be re-evaluated. Mostly because die-hard joe users would kill me otherwise (and its sufficiently different from other CLI
text editors that we have..)

How is this Wontfix?!
I need my 2.4 or at least 2.3 here to work on my projects!
Also i didn't find out how to apply the patch yet - or more *where*.

My bad; my fault for looking through older commits and not finding any done with Arcanist. Call it nerves.

@doc-E-brown This package request is still in the backlog (look on the right column, in the Tags section). This means Triage Team still has to decide if it will be accepted or not.
Patches should be submitted only after the request is accepted.
The thing is that when a patch is attached to a task, the Herald script automatically closes it as invalid since this was of working is deprecated. (packages requests and patches submissions had to be done in individual tasks).

Yeah autopep8 can be installed via pip and pip3. I was wondering about whether it would be accepted as a package myself. I did a quick check on IRC, had a look around at some other packages, and saw a couple of similar packages like pycodestyle https://dev.solus-project.com/D1006 that also are pip installable. If nothing else thanks to @kyrios123 I was able to get familiar with the patch process ;)
yeah it's true this hasn't been accepted
I'm curious, no complaining involved: why to have it packaged instead of installing it via pip3?
@doc-E-brown this way of submitting patches is deprecated.
You have to submit packages using aracnist, don't worry it's very easy:
https://solus-project.com/articles/packaging/submitting-a-package/en/
Here is a patch for python-autopep8, it covers both Python 2 & 3. Using the slightly newer version 1.3.2.
@DataDrake I am not necessarily disagreeing with you, however, which part of the Inclusion Policy are you referring to?

This is a UK specific tool that works , legally, on BBC UK-only servers and reminds the user that they should only use the downloaded media in accordance with the published terms and condition (delete after 30 days).

@padraig You need to submit through Diffusion: https://solus-project.com/articles/packaging/submitting-a-package/en/

@kyrios123 Pretty obvious he was following an old packaging session. @RJG please follow session 4, sessions prior to that are outdated in terms of patch submission.
