@curantes Yea, I think upgrading systemd is certainly an item that should be tracked. I'll sort out the triaging bits :)

Shall I leave this here open for you to grab when you feel the timing to be right and move parent task to "waiting for fixes"?
Ehm. It's a delicate one. Let's set this back for a couple of weeks at least as it's a highly disruptive change that needs much testing. Even 219 broke on us in the past.

Your video link is broken, so I have no idea what I'm looking at.

Update: Seems work is happening in Valum master in supporting Meson support, which is awesome. I'll be paying close attention to Valum and its releases, might patch against 0.3.5.

Update: I booted with the mouse plugged in, and never removed it. Just before doing so, I tested the touchpad, and it was dead. Maybe this is because I happened to boot up with the lid closed, as I was on external HDMI? I think it's safe to say at this point that this is easily reproduced within a workday. Locking and unlocking the screen a few times may be necessary. Perhaps there's a way to always make it happen, but I haven't had time to test it in a directed manner.

What do you want that desktop entry to do for you?

I think this is an upstream (GNOME) issue, probably not the job for Solus team.
I think I see what's going on now. When I delete the "Video" folder (which is easily done), the bookmark to it on the left panel of Files still remains. If I right click on that bookmark, "Remove" is grayed out, meaning that I'm not able to remove the bookmark. However, sometime later (after a reboot?), something figures out that the target folder was deleted, so the bookmark removes itself automatically. (I would have expected to be able to do this manually via the right click menu). It's not the worst problem, and I could live with it, but it's weird how "Remove" was disallowed.

@feskyde is correct. This is a Budgie related issue and should be reported upstream.
Just a quick comment, as I am experiencing slightly different behavior:

I can't reproduce this issue. I can normally delete the folders. Can you create new folder? What does ls -l /home/ output?
This should be in Budgie's tracker

@smalltimer
Packaging instructions and other common instructions can be found here on wiki.
@skmlcd Thanks! I had looked at it, but it seemed more about edges than corners. I'm coming to Budgie from Pantheon, so my workflow rotates around the hot corners.
@smalltimer I think this is the issue you want.
This is specific to Recent Files, typically accessed via Nautilus or a file picker. It doesn't necessary pertain to specific applications and what they may remember. By all accounts, the functionality is working as it's expected to. If you're expecting the functionality to be broader, then that's an upstream issue, given we just use Gnome Control Center.
This isn't a bug, but it's odd. Under System Settings > Keyboard > System, there is an option for "Show the run command prompt", but nothing for bringing up an actual terminal. There's nothing under "Launchers" either.

Hi @ikey could I have a link to the feature request please ? I would like to subscribe but can't seem to find it on the budgie github.

@joebonrichie Debugging mpv it seems like there could be a pixel format mismatch that's causing it to fall back on software decoding. Could you attach the mpv.log produced by this command on your working Arch install?
Jan 7 2017
At least it's not just me!
I am able to repro this on my Kaby Lake (i3-7100U) system with Solus 2017.01.01.0. From the output of vainfo, VAAPI appears properly configured on my system. I see no explicit error messages from either VLC or MPV but logs and CPU usage indicate fallback to software rendering. Repros with known good media (Big Buck Bunny H.264/1080p) so it doesn't appear to be media-specific but could still possibly be related to AVC profile / level detection. Will continue to investigate.

ok, this is going to sound odd. but try disabling virtualization support in your BIOS/UEFI
After further discussion, this is an upstream issue with pulseaudio and not the sort of thing we should cludge our way around.
This seems more like Budgie not responding well to being notified of the change by gnome-settings-daemon. no?
I don't really see a problem. It will match as soon as you type the first character. We can definitely keep this in mind for autocompletion with sol.

Not sure if this is related to an issue of mine:

Well, it never happens in Ubuntu, Fedora and OpenSUSE and all of their derivatives. First time I've seen it in Solus.
Have you ruled out hardware issues? It may be specific to your card, or your card may be failing. Can you liveboot another distro and try it, or try using a USB wifi adapter?

Looks like it is hybrid. How do I know (when buying one) if they machine is using a hybrid card?
When a laptop has an nvidia card and an intel cpu, you end up with two cards because the intel chip brings a gpu right? Is that hybrid?
Are you using a machine with hybrid graphics? I believe this is a known issue for machines with hybrid graphics when you try to install the binary driver.

They seemed to be all Budgie's issues but the trigger seemed to be the Input Sources, which I believe it's Solus?
@ikey is this something we would handle or is it upstream?
Nov 22 2016
OK so to clarify - it's all window manager issues (budgie-wm) ? Because it's also responsible for backgrounds
I can confirm some of these issues even though I cannot remember exactly which ones as it only happened to me once. I am not sure to what extent this is related to Budgie or to Ibus, or both.

I was able to reproduce it because I accidentally did it myself yesterday. I was able to get everything back to normal on a reboot.
