well... there goes the "dont do stupid things in 2019" objective.
mea culpa, i forgot about manually doing the check updates for 3rd party because i always use the search function instead of the lists, and because i had seen a previous update request for enpass here that was closed because it didnt meet request criteria instead of mentioning this...
thanks and apologies :)

We are no longer adding new things to Third-Party.
Closing due to lack of activity in over 30 days.
So there is no way, mongo compass can be implemented

IMHO, it's mean the software will not be included in Solus' repository. First, I think it's because the application isn't open source, so Solus can't distribute the application. And it's not the responsibility of Solus developer if the application doesn't support Solus.
Does this mean that it won't be revisited? For me, this is a must-have piece of software to adopt a new version of Linux. I like the idea of a rolling release however not being able to see what software is available to install is a worry if terms like "Wontfix" are used in conjunction with software applications - I can only assume that is something that will not be considered into the future either - please correct me if I have the wrong idea of what this means?

@JoshStrobl is there a place I could read some more details about this policy?
We aren't accepting any additional inclusions into the Third Party repository.

Duplicate of https://github.com/solus-project/solus-sc/issues/175 but thanks for filing the issue. Hopefully will be resolved with the new Software Center when we get around to finishing it. Marking as invalid due to currently being in the wrong tracker, but we have other reported issues on Phab that are similar to it: T1221, T3755, etc.

I saw this today: https://www.reddit.com/r/SolusProject/comments/a3mjkp/video_editing_on_solus/
Here's DaVinci Resolve 16.2.7: https://www.mediafire.com/file/4vw1yx9bmbpv35z/DaVinci_Resolve_16.2.7_Linux.zip/file (1.6 GB zip file)
It has a .run file and a PDF file (.pdf) which has install instructions.
Here's the PDF file with instructions if anyone wants to read it !

Near as I can tell, I think you or the build are accidentally including the same header twice.
We are no longer accepting new additions into our Third Party section of the Software Center. Any of those that are currently there are maintained for legacy reasons. If there are open-source or redistributable alternatives you would like to see included, please file a separate package request.
Fixed. Thanks for explaining.

@sunnyflunk Thanks, that seems to make it work! Although the dialog doesn't play well with dark themes, but it's better than no dialog at all :)
Oct 25 2018
So I can actually reproduce this one (it's likely passing options for an older version of kdialog), but I can't fix it and it seems like it would be really easy to test and fix if the source were available. Ah I see this is Qt4, so likely wanting the KDE 4 version of kdialog.

I understand that, those ones I have mentioned are the development beta drivers, not the "short-lived branch" drivers. The development ones have stream output enabled on them through vulkan, something needed in lots of DXVK compatible windows games through wine/proton. These are separate to the 410.57 drivers, which were created for the RT series cards for their ray-tracing capabilities.
410.57 replaced 396.54 as the beta "developer" driver.
410 Is now the official stable, 396.54 is gone

I agree with @LanceHaverkamp that Duplicati is a much better choice as backup software and CrashPlan doesn't have a plan for home users anymore and would be third party.
Aug 16 2018
Should be filed at https://github.com/solus-project/3rd-party since it is a Third Party Repository item. We do the tracking for it over there and save for a couple items in the tag, it's likely to be removed in the near future.

MKL has these highly optimized Core math functions that includes BLAS, LAPACK, ScaLAPACK, sparse solvers, fast Fourier transforms, and vector math which is useful in scientific computation.
Now, Granted the primary goal of Solus is not scientific computation but MKL would be a nice addition to have as a third party application if its not too much work.
Aug 6 2018
Check for update now
Intel now provides MKL for free and since it is highly optimized library, it will be useful.

It's essentially wine dev + staging patches, isn't it? If so just add staging instead.
Just to clear up some misconceptions
Disappointing. Codeweavers is already busy enhancing their product and maintaining support for the big distros (I.E. Debian, Ubuntu, Arch, etc). Seeing how Solus is a newer distro with a much smaller user-base that, for better or worse, chooses to be different from the other distros (EOPKG and incompatibility with .deb files anyone?), it would make sense that the devs of Solus would try and port more software to their distro so as to attract more users, not the other way around.

Given we have no plans on flatpaking or snapping this application, closing as wontfix. I'd suggest reaching out to the respective developers about supporting either of those distribution and container models.
Thiry Party issues should be reported on github, as this one already has been:

I've sent them an email about providing with a flatpak, snap or appimage. I will let you know about any answer.
This was fixed awhile ago.
Technically you can, but they will need to be Snaps (snapcraft.io) or Flatpaks (likely Flathub) and you will have to check the EULA and related licenses to ensure they can be redistributed.
Ah, you're correct. :/
Last q. Can I make 3rd party packages for Lightworks, Resolve or uwsgi? Or how can I get these tools on Solus?
No. We are not adding new things to Third-Party unless there is a specific interest from a Solus team member to maintain it. Even then, we will not be using the old Third-Party mechanism and will be moving things to Snap and Flatpak.
I do not understand. Installation steps were provided. And v14.5 will be shipped with portaudio, so no workaround is required. Is snap/flatpak required?
Given we have no plans on flatpaking or snapping this application, closing as wontfix. I'd suggest reaching out to the respective developers about supporting either of those distribution and container models, or taking on the initiative.
