"libreoffice-common-kde-integration" seems to be broken
Closed, ResolvedPublic

Description

On KDE Plasma, LibreOffice is unusable for me, as most of the tools/options are unclickable - or rather, clicking them does nothing. To better demonstrate what I'm referring to, I have created a short video of the issue here.

As the video shows, removing libreoffice-common-kde-integration fixes the problem. Reinstalling any other component of LibreOffice did not affect anything, so the issue seems to lie with this one package.

If I can help to track this down further, please let me know how.
Thank you for your time!

szb updated the task description. (Show Details)

Libreoffice works completely fine here, can you check if you have any broken packages? fully updated?

https://getsol.us/articles/troubleshooting/general-troubleshooting/en/

This package is generated while build libreoffice itself. It looks like this package consists of some shared libraries from upstream libreoffice.

@joebonrichie: Could this be possibly an issue introduced by upgrading to 7.2.1.2?

There is a bug regarding KDE backend on upstream bugtracker: https://bugs.documentfoundation.org/show_bug.cgi?id=125943

You could try setting that legacy SAL_VCL_QT5_USE_CAIRO thingie.

EDIT: Ah @Girtablulu, you were faster than me. Could it be a drawing setting in his KDE configuration regarding Cairo?

Woah, I faced this very issue yesterday. I was editing my CV so didn't bother troubleshooting the situation and just uninstalled the KDE integration package. I don't have the time to look at it more than I already did at the moment, but I can confirm I'm facing this too.

joebonrichie moved this task from Backlog to Package Fixes on the Software board.

Need to backport this patch: https://gerrit.libreoffice.org/c/core/+/122116.

Will build LO tomorrow unless someone beats me to it.

The Honourable grandmaintainer @joebonrichie has just summoned a correct answer out of nowhere.

I'm impressed how many experience is involved here. :)
Thank you for that fast reaction.

Do you have subscriptions to that bug trackers and dev-op-tools to stay informed?

? Not really otherwise I could never keep up, just experience :)
