Is this only for paid accounts?

As far as I know, no. You need an account. Your tier will determine availability of range of services.

Any updates / resolution on this? Thanks!
ProtonVPN has solid free plan as seen here:

Just waiting for the triage team to approve this. They've been quite busy recently :)

Should we call it protonvpn or protonvpn-gui?

Since there is already a -cli I would think -gui, no?

Isn't less more?

Adding -gui would be confusing as there is no mention of such app on their website.

Good pointS. Just thinking that the software center already listed ProtonVPN-cli and that having ProtonVPN might be confusing. But in general, simple is better…agreed.

I don't have a strong opinion, but I think protovpn or protonvpn-app would make the most sense. protonvpn-app would at least mirror linux-cli --> protonvpn-cli with linux-app --> protonvpn-app. But I also think more people will want to use the GUI instead of the CLI, so maybe protonvpn helps discoverability. I do know that not everyone understands what a GUI is, but the people who want a CLI know what that is.

As always, B with the mic drop. 100% with the original @gozo suggestion of simple is best: ProtonVPN

This is to see how other distros are doing it:

The upstream name is protonvpn-gui as shown here, so I think it's better to stick with it.
