Description

I am on a Lenovo Legion 5 with a NVIDIA GeForce GTX 1660, 24GB of memory and 8GB swap. I am having an issue on Budgie using Lightdm on shannon. If I suspend, close lid or try to switch TTYs. The session will reset and kill all applications. I was able to get a decent output from journactl that will hopefully help. I will attach it here. Basically the journalctl is everything from the moment I cleared it to when I was able to gain control of the session again. Towards the middle there is mention of Budgie-wm and panel crashing with a code.

The code related to budgie-wm is not relevant, you'll notice the same related to even pulseaudio and at-spi2:

Sep 07 22:01:18 legion-solus pulseaudio[16451]: [pulseaudio] x11wrap.c: X11 I/O error handler called
Sep 07 22:01:18 legion-solus pulseaudio[16451]: [pulseaudio] x11wrap.c: X11 I/O error exit handler called, preparing to tear down X11 modules
Sep 07 22:01:18 legion-solus at-spi-bus-launcher[16465]: X connection to :0 broken (explicit kill or server shutdown).

Amongst others, like Nextcloud.

Switching from TTY and back at the moment seems to be resulting in an X11 server crash. This issue is either in xserver, mesalib, or mutter -- not Budgie. Would suggest uploading your Xorg.0.log and Xorg.0.log.old files.

Thank you for your attention to this Josh. Finding out it crashed when changing TTY happened much later. The original issue for me was the act of going into suspend that caused it to happen.

@jakes, does this issue still happen with an up to date Solus installation? There have been many updates and bug fixes since this issue was last updated.
