It seems like Python has been upgraded. I know Anki is notoriously painful to package, are there any blockers?
(Anki is now at 2.1.47 by the way)
@rjurga No, the only blocker is the build system being a pain[1]. As far as I can tell at the moment, at least. My current build fails so early in the process that other unknown problems might hide in the later stages.
[1] The build system might be better structured now after all, but of course it's also quite a change from before, so some work is necessary to get it right again.
It must be far from trivial because I just checked Anki on Arch, and they're also out of date for longer than half a year now.
It's only of tangential relevance, but Anki has been removed from the Arch repos, so they did give up on it. It can be found on the AUR though, in a messy state according to the comments.
EDIT: More relevant, this GitHub issue discusses the build difficulties https://github.com/ankitects/anki/issues/1378
