Description

name: qspeakers
page: http://brouits.free.fr/qspeakers/
why: QSpeakers is an office.scientific program that helps to design loudspeakers enclosures based on driver parameters. It has no alternative in solus.
open-source: yes, GPLv3+ http://brouits.free.fr/qspeakers/qspeakers-1.6.tar.gz

I have prepared a package.yml but, despite build is ok, install fails due to DESTDIR not recognized.
faulty package.yml is downloadable @ http://brouits.free.fr/qspeakers/package.yml

@be1 it looks like you may be the developer. Are you a Solus user or just looking to package your software for Solus?

Concerning the failure to build, if I had to guess, you need to add INSTALL_ROOT=$installdir to the %make_install directive.

As for submitting a package.yml, you need to go through the review process if and only if this package is accepted.

@DataDrake yes, I am a recent Solus user. And indeed, I am the developer of QSpeakers. I could just use it for myself, but I think it could be useful for other Solus users. QSpeakers is in Debian and Ubuntu. But as I switched to Solus for it's neat, I am willing to maintain the package for Solus if it is accepted.
Thank you for the %make_install directive hint. It works. I'll wait for acceptance before to go to the revew process. Thanks for all those precise informations !

DataDrake lowered the priority of this task from Needs More Info to Wishlist.
DataDrake moved this task from Backlog to Accepted For Inclusion on the Package Requests board.

@be1 just checking. We generally don't accept patches for software unless a user requests it, namely because it makes no sense to include something just because a developer offers to maintain it. If you are a user too, no conflict there. At least I know you'll test it on Solus.

Removing Needs Maintainer to avoid someone else claiming this.

I'm waiting to release soon 1.6.1 (upstream) which fixes some glitches in GUI. with Qt5.15.x
