VS Code doesn't support settings sync?
Closed, ResolvedPublic

Description

Hi,

I opened this issue in the official VS code repo (https://github.com/microsoft/vscode/issues/120770) and it appeared to be an issue specific to the Solus build.

Not sure if the omission of the URL is intentional or not. I went back looking through the description of recent commits on R3148 and don't see any specific mention of it.

Settings sync isn't supported by the open source version of vscode which is used in the Solus repo. If you want this your best bet is downloading the prebuilt tarball from the vscode site and using that official binary, you'll just need to handle updates manually.

I was thinking there was something about FOSS vs proprietary going on here, so this makes sense. Thanks. I'll close this now.

Setting sync used to be enabled and functional in our builds, but they did break it a while back. I just haven't updated the product.json to reflect that of Microsoft's. Will see if it's viable.
