Sublime Text 4 Beta
Closed, WontfixPublic

Description

Would anyone be interested in compiling ST4 beta packages for Solus? Sorry to say but I can only propose the idea. I do not have the knowledge to do so, nor do I have the time to learn right now, but am interested in the new version since it has major fixes.

Homepage www.sublimetext.com

Is it Open Source (yes/no) No

If no: Are we allowed to distribute it? I guess so.

Who and how many users do you anticipate will use this software? The new version has some big and old bugs fixed and likely some new features, so many people could be interested. Arch repositories already have it, for example: https://aur.archlinux.org/packages/sublime-text-4-dev/

Link to source tarball/zip file. Archive is on ST's Discord. The link, as well as other info, is on this page: https://forum.sublimetext.com/t/resources-and-bug-tracking/22985

Thanks.

Closed source, not redistributable. Sublime Text is in our Third Party exactly for this reason. Hopefully when it gets out of beta we can get our 3rd-party repo entry updated to it fast enough. AUR is not the official Arch repository by the way, so that isn't a valid reference. You will commonly find software which is not explicitly redistributable or legally dubious in the AUR as in most cases along those lines they are just repackaging an existing binary package like a Deb.
