Closed, WontfixPublic

Description

WiFi Card Details:

  • Device Manager Name (from Windows 10): Realtek 8821CE Wireless LAN 802.11ac PCI-E NIC

Is there a way to have support for this WiFi card in Solus?
Also, it should also have integrated Bluetooth on it, also not working in Solus 4.2 Live (MATE(.

I tried booting Solus from USB on a laptop with this WiFi card (and no Ethernet card) and I couldn't get it to work.

Thank you!

This WiFi card is from an ASUS Laptop model:

VivoBook ASUS Laptop X509DAP_M509DA

If it's not supported by the kernel then your only choices are to compile an unofficial driver by hand or get a compatible wifi card.

This very often problem with Realtek drivers, check this script for simple and fast install your driver

The driver is enabled in our kernel, but the specific revision of your hardware may not yet be supported. You will need to try an out-of-tree driver (which we don't support) or wait until a newer kernel does support your device.
