Why? It is the KDE equivalent of GNOME's GVfs, which like the GNOME version substantially improves the experience of interacting with remote files using non-native software by exposing the remote file and its parent folder to the app using a FUSE interface.

I would also like to request that this package be pre-installed by default in your KDE ISO, and be made a dependency of your general KDE metapackage.

This requires FUSE 3 per T3023. Not being accepted until someone provides a solution for fuse 2 and 3 to be co-installable.

This recipe was tested to build and install (pkgconfig is fuse3, but rundep needs to be fuse, since fuse = fuse-3.x now):
