Description: "GanttProject is a project scheduling application written in Java and featuring Gantt chart, resource management, calendaring, import/export (MS Project, HTML, PDF, spreadsheets)."
Quoting @mundotazo from his previous request:
It does the same thing. I would give it a go but I am skeptical.
Ganttproject felt like a beta to me when I tried it, not fully featured. How active is the development? I am not fan of java applications.
Planner is written in C. There's also projectlibre which I haven't used & Calligra plan which is great but built for the kde stack.
How do they compare in terms of dependencies working on solus?
I'm not picky but we should pick best of breed.
Under the new package inclusion policy, I would actually favor Gnome Planner or Calligra Plan instead of GanttProject. I know some work has already been done to get GanttProject included but the other two are probably better choices in terms of feature completeness and ease of use/user interface. Feel free to close this if all parties agree.
