Request:
Hardware Support for DVB device Technisat SkyStar USB HD in Solus
Solus Forum thread:
https://discuss.getsol.us/d/5919-new-to-linux-traffic-password-hp-plugin-cheese-dvb-goldendict
Device specs:
https://www.linuxtv.org/wiki/index.php/Technisat_SkyStar_USB_HD
Technisat SkyStar USB HD
Firmware file (link from linuxtv article mentioned above):
http://kernellabs.com/firmware/technisat-usb2/
SkyStar_USB_HD_FW_v17_63.HEX.fw
SkyStar_USB_HD_FW_v17_63.HEX.fw.license.txt
Issue:
Device works properly after copying "SkyStar_USB_HD_FW_v17_63.HEX.fw" to /lib/firmware on any other distro without further actions.
DataDrake suggests a kernel flag needs to be enabled.
Licence allows redistribution of "SkyStar_USB_HD_FW_v17_63.HEX.fw".
Gecko Linux (openSUSE) already offers package that provides "SkyStar_USB_HD_FW_v17_63.HEX.fw".
Temporary solution:
Using other distro for dvb :(
Thanks for your help! :)
