Problem with Bluetooth earphones
Closed due to inactivityPublic

Description

I'm having issues with the Bluetooth connection between my PC and Earphones. When I try connect them, it keeps asking me a PIN code that I never had to use before. And when it (rarely) connects, the connection suddenly closes again after some seconds.

  • earphones are working perfectly with other devices
  • my bluetooth adapter works fine with other devices too

I guess it's something related to kernel with the latest Bluetooth security fixes. Can you guys help me? Here are some logs and also a patch that could possibly fix the problem, according with I have searched:

Also how can I apply this patch in the kernel?
Thanks and sorry for the bad english

So have the earphones worked with Solus at some point?

yes, it does work with another Solus installation at my job's laptop and used to work on mine :(

If I understand correctly the patch is already in the kernel since 5.0

My bad, didn't pay attention to this..

I did a test with my other installation (5.6.19-158) and my earphones are working perfectly. The problem seen to happen in 5.6.19-159 only.

How can I downgrade to 5.6.19-158 or revert those patches applied to current kernel?

What make/model are your earphones?

@xportox with 159 the kernel got a CVE fix backported, so most likely this is the issue for you

This should be tested against the latest 5.10.x kernel release at this point, as there has been countless updates to bluetooth since then.
