Wrong icon showing in tray
Closed, LockedPublic

Description

Hi,

I'm seeing this issue appear namely with Synology Cloud Station Drive, which is a third party tool that's installed via the instructions on this page: https://getsol.us/articles/software/third-party/en/

I understand that as a third party tool there's only so much the Solus dev team would support, but I'm not sure if this would relate to other apps.

Anyway, if you see the screenshot you'll see the issue - the icon on the left is the proper one for controlling power and user login/logoff - but the icon next to it is for the Cloud Drive app. I haven't observed this with other apps yet I don't think, but I remember a couple months back or so there were some updates to the system tray icon handling, and this started occurring.

Event Timeline

Hi, I was the one who rewrote the system tray. Does this happen consistently with this one app? If so, I can try testing it locally to see if I can reproduce it.

Also, since this appears to be an issue with Budgie, I'd recommend closing this issue and creating one at https://github.com/solus-project/budgie-desktop, so I can follow up there.

This issue has been deemed by the developers to be an issue related to Budgie, our primary desktop environment. As Budgie is a distro-agnostic project, developed by Solus but leveraged by other operating systems and projects, we maintain a dedicated issue tracker for it. This issue tracker can be found at https://github.com/solus-project/budgie-desktop

We encourage you to search for your issue there and if your issue is not found, please create it. Bugs filed, tracked, and resolved there ensure the wider Budgie community can engage in a solution to your issue. Do note that we do not consider your issue "invalid" by virtue of being closed here, but rather are trying to maintain the distro-agnostic nature of Budgie as well as maintaining focus of Solus-specific issues on this tracker.
