webbrowser package request (read description)
Closed, WontfixPublic

Description

It's fork of Palemoon, but not related to PM by any means when it comes to branding as it's browser with a different name. I have direct contact with the developer Thomas and he approves. Worst case I can get a written approval from him.

Name: webbrowser

It's a fork of the independent project Palemoon browser.

Homepage: https://git.nuegia.net/webbrowser.git/

It's a Goanna based browser with absolutely zero unsolicited requests & spyware BY DEFAULT, and absolutely zero non-free branding. And yes it's open source.

I read the description. Regardless of it being a fork, it's still being closed for reasons not related to the branding issue that was referenced, but the fact we do not make it a practice to include random forks of mainstream browsers like Firefox. If this offered features on top of Firefox itself, it may be considered, but not a seperate codebase.

Solus is not a privacy-oriented operating system. We aren't anti-telemetry, as an example. There are other OSes that pitch themselves as that like Qubes. You're acting like there spyware in Firefox, which isn't the case, and all features you may not agree with personally like Pocket integration can easily be disabled.

This is being rejected.
