Basically is the best alternative for Notepad++ in Windows. I personally think that Solus should provide the maximum number of alternatives to suit all types of users.
It's like if you told me why I want to use FileZilla if there are other alternatives.
There are alternatives like Bluefish, Kate, sublime text, etc. but if you search "Notepad++ alternative for Linux" you always get "Notepadqq". If you come from Windows or from other distro (it is available for deb/rpm package system), it would be more comfortable than other alternative.
We provide a plethora of editors already that should fill the niche of Nodepad++, such as gedit, Geany, Atom, Visual Studio Code, etc.

Literally opposite of what we do. We prefer quality over quantity.
Could this possibly be revisited? I've wanted to ask about this for months but didn't want to bother anyone with it. Ever since seeing this request get rejected, I've tried to make do with Geany but it's just not cutting the mustard.
I used Notepad++ on windows for many years, then Kate on KDE when I switched to linux (which his very similar to NP++/qq). On windows machines at work I sometimes use UltraEdit. All of those editors mentioned share a very similar UI/worklfow. My big reason for wanting Notepadqq is just having an editor that fits nicely within this style of editors. It's familiar, and I'm efficient with them.
I don't write much code in desktop text editors, I do a lot of large text file manipulation (healthcare data processing) and Notepadqq/Notepad++/UltraEdit/Kate handle this type of work really well. Atom and VSC are definite no's for my uses, gedit is too basic. That leaves geany as my only real option and I'm not a huge fan of it.
So all I can really say now is.. pretty please with sugar on top? I'd really appreciate if you guys could reconsider this one. Thanks
Could you please check this application? I will not find a good editor for linux with the functionalities of this one, for a long time also use notepadqq in ubuntu.
It is necessary to review this application, I really understand that they prefer quality over quantity, with all due respect, they can not be closed to this type of requests, it is good software and one of the best.
For us, the developers is a great advantage.
thanks.
best regards.
