Skanlite doesn't work, uses webcam instead of scanner
Closed, WontfixPublic

Description

Steps to reproduce:

  1. All-in-one printer/scanner is on local network, detected by CUPS and printing is possible
  2. Install Skanlite
  3. Skanlite says "detecting scanner, please wait..." for a few seconds
  4. Skanlite considers my USB webcam to be a scanner and tries to read from it ?

My all-in-one is an HP Officejet 6600 if that's relevant.

Does it find your scanner or not? it finds mine

And skanlite was always bad and lacks a lot of support and development from KDE Side

It seems to only find my webcam. I tried poking around the interface/settings but there doesn't seem to be an option to pick a different scanner.

Which app for KDE would you suggest using instead?

Simple-scan has at least PDF scan support and not just jpg

Closing since user is opting to go and create their own Linux distribution. I don't see a reason further support should be provided given that intent.,
