The major feature I'm interested in is
Support for a new configure option "--with-system-gdbinit-dir", where system gdbinit files are to be loaded from at startup;
so that I can avoid to clutter my $HOME with yet another dotfile. By using that flag, I could put my .gdbinit inside ~/.config, for example.

I'm creating this task because Joe is usually the compilers guy. If you think I could submit the update myself, I'll do it.
@livingsilver94 I hope this helps! Starting in 9.1 you now have to compile gdb in a different directory from it's source which is a little weird in the packaging world.
