Requesting Scanner Drivers for an Epson V39 flatbed
Closed, ResolvedPublic

They exist only as rpm and deb here:

There have been requests here for this precise model (or it's mirror the V19) in the past so a need has been demonstrated: (4243 closed and called duplicate of this, still no package) (project stalls out here).

Not much at the forum:

Install iscan, bunch of sanes, simple, utsushi, gscan, iscan. Nothing.

Tried a straight tar.gz compile but we didn't have cxxxtest and other packages.

If you believe I have not done sufficient work to solve this myself please send me in the right direction and I will try to make it happen, then close this task.
If you believe sufficient need has not been demonstrated by me, then please tell me so I can get a refund ($100 USD) inside my refund window soon.

I respect any decision made since I know we live in a strange time right now (time tight, resources tight). Thank you team for all you do.

I know this is a little unconventional, but I just built an eopkg that installs that .deb package onto the system. You can download both the package.yml (if you want to build/install the package yourself) and/or the .eopkg (for a simple install on your system) here. Let me know if you have any installation issues, or if it even works, as I don't have an Epson printer myself lol. Hope I can help!

or make this plug-in part of utsushi?

Although it's still over my head, it smells easier for you devs. I think. I hope...

Resolved inasmuch I have a documented solution (@forums) outside of the purview of this Maniphest T8877.
I am closing my own request for help, at the very least. Unsure of button protocol. Thank you.
