Thanks for your responding, I just think it needs to be updated, I can't maintain it.

I tried creating a patch for the newer Version. Unfortunately it needs Java 11 which is not inside the repositories as of now. Discussion about how to include Java 11 is ongoing: https://dev.getsol.us/T6658

Pdfsam can now be upgraded to the newest version as of the inclusion of JDK11.
