Description

I would like to request that OpenHMD ( http://www.openhmd.net/ ) be included in the software center.

Adding this package will open more games to be played on Solus and will be in keeping with the thinking that produced the steam-Linux-integration that makes steam work better on Solus than other distros.

This will benefit countless users over time as proton and other technologies allow Solus users to completely get rid of windows.
I will also be adding a request for the Steam-VR plugin for OpenHMD to be included as it will make this package even more useful. The plugin does depend on this package being present.

This package is open-source ( https://github.com/OpenHMD/OpenHMD ) and actively maintained.

This has sat in accepted for inclusion for over 30 days. Clearly, there is a lack of demand for the inclusion of this software, nobody has stepped up to provide a completed patch, maintain it, and properly integrate it. Closing as a result. Feel free to reopen but only when someone offers a patch via our proper patch submission methods and volunteers to be maintainer.

I would love to maintain it, as I am just getting into VR and need it for my setup. The progress has certainly slowed down, but it is still maintained, a lot of people are using it and it does support a lot of different hardware.
So I will be using it myself on Solus, it is your decision if you would accept it in the repos.
