Description

I'm on Solus Mate, after restarting, I saw this:

Bluetooth is enabled, shown correctly in the tooltip, but wrong in the icon.

I'll check if I can reproduce this issue during the weekend.

I did a quick test here and it's showing the correct indicator icon... I did turn on and off bluetooth a couple of times, then I left it on and I did reboot.

Is it a recent problem ? Or something that occurred after an update ? If you enable/disable bluetooth does the indicator icon remains reverted ?

This happened before yesterday's updates, after I had restarted. Usually I see the Bluetooth icon showing it's enabled, but I noticed what I saw in the screenshot above.
After installing yesterday's updates and restarting, it showed normally:

Is there any way to restart and not see the Bluetooth icon, but still have it disabled ? I've set it so it doesn't show, but Bluetooth is still enabled. So every time I restart, I press the Bluetooth button on my keyboard to disable it, then right-click the icon and press Exit.

To be honest I never use bluetooth. The rare times I enable it is to perform some tests like now.

To have the bluetooth alway disabled, turn it off then go in the Startup Applictions Preferences and uncheck the Blueman applet

Which icons theme are you using ? Could you try with another icon theme to see if the same problem occurs? Perhaps it's the enabled/disabled notification icons that have been accidentally permuted in the theme you use?

After installing yesterday's updates including Mate 1.24, and then restarting, I saw this:

When I pressed the keyboard Bluetooth button to disable it, it showed it had been enabled, instead of disabled, which was confusing.
I also don't use Bluetooth on my laptop, so I wanted to keep it disabled and not see the Bluetooth icon after every restart. This way it reduces power usage. Maybe that could become the default for all Solus editions, that Bluetooth is disabled.
And before, I have disabled Bluetooth, then unticked it in Startup Applications, but after restarting Solus, my phone shows my laptop's Bluetooth is still on. I'll try this again and tell you what happens !
My theme info is the following:
Controls: Arc-Darker
Window Border: Arc-Darker
Icons: Arc
Pointer: Breeze

I had Bluetooth turned off, with Blueman applet unticked in Startup Applications.
I restarted Solus, then opened Bluetooth Adapters, which didn't say I needed to turn on Bluetooth, showing visibility set to Hidden.
So your suggestion appears to work, but really Bluetooth is still on in a hidden state.

Is this still an issue on the latest MATE?

For me it looks fine, tested with the given theme settings:
Controls: Arc-Darker
Window Border: Arc-Darker
Icons: Arc
Pointer: Breeze

I'll close this, feel free to re-open if the problem isn't fixed
