Audacity functions properly with the exception of audio output. Audacity seems to run through ALSA explicitly, and does show output devices, but none of them are functional, and both the inbuilt audio settings as well as Pavucontrol show no output from the program or interaction with the sound server whatsoever.
As you can see here, Audacity is open but no interaction with the sound server can be seen from Pavucontrol. (Even when files are loaded and played back, though this is not necessary as it should be linked up immediately.)
