Uniform package names regarding KDE integration
Closed, WontfixPublic

There are two packages I can mention that have the same objective, but their name is not consistent:

  • nextcloud-client-dolphin-integration
  • libreoffice-common-kde-integration

Without a consistent naming policy for KDE extensions, packages could be hard to find and could lead a user to think that we don't ship any.
I know this is super-low priority, still I think that a naming policy akin to Python or Perl packages could be a plus; say, *-kde-integration or, even better, *-plasma-integration.

They don't have the same objective. nextcloud-client-dolphin-integration is for integrating nextcloud into dolphin, which you can use on any of our DEs, not just plasma. libreoffice-common-kde-integration adds support for kwin and kio to libreoffice, but is actually split out from the main package to remove dependencies for non-KDE/Plasma installs. Neither of these packages exist explicitly for KDE or Plasma integration.
