Description

VLC v.3.0.7.1
I have some problems with vlc. It crashes when I try to play some videos. For example mp4.

This is the output from terminal.

$ vlc Bumblebee\ 2018.mp4

[0000000001371570] main libvlc: Running vlc with the default interface. Use 'cvlc' to use vlc without interface.

(vlc:2837): dbind-WARNING **: 23:41:44.279: Couldn't register with accessibility bus: Did not receive a reply. Possible causes include: the remote application did not send a reply, the message bus security policy blocked the reply, the reply timeout expired, or the network connection was broken.

The problem is only with video files, not audio files.

Installed the snap version 3.0.7 and it doesn't have this problem.

Which DE are you using and what GPU Driver are you using? the file runs fine for me

Working for me using Plasma with Intel drivers.

I am using Budgie DE, and my PC is old.

OpenGL: renderer: Mesa DRI Intel Q35 v: 1.4 Mesa 19.0.6 direct render: Yes

I fixed it by changing some video settings

Tools > Preferences > Video > Output.

Working fine with these options:

  • XVideo output (XCB)
  • X11 video output (XCB)

With other options sometimes crashes, sometimes flashing and sometimes only blackscreen.
