I have a problem with icons in the system tray since last update on Budgie :

Have you restarted since the update? Might just be an artifact of the old version.

Try budgie-panel --replace & (and then close the terminal with CTRL-D)

Yes I restarted but your command solves the issue

Interesting, then there probably still is some underlying issue with tray icons not properly updating
(I'm guessing the issue re-appears after a while?)

I think it comes with another issue that I solve by restarting lightdm but sometimes I have the tray icons bug without the artefacts around the cursor
