A month or so ago it used to work. Please if someone can help would be much appreciated.

Do you have any game-pad connected to the pc? There was/is a bug that prevented cs:go to open if you had a a game controller connected. It append to me, you can use the "-nojoy" flag in the cs:go launch options to bypass that bug, but I don't know if that's the problem you'r facing.

Thank you very much. That was the issue. I had a game-pad connected. I used the "-nojoy" flag and it works fine now.
