Kdenlive and Shotcut are there but they don’t often meet the standards of professional video editing I know many Linux users have expressed this. This gap between the hobbyist and professional video editors prompted the developer(s) of Olive to start this project.

Changing from invalid to wontfix after evaluation. It's currently self-described as alpha software and is being rewritten. While it has a fairly dated 0.1.1 release (0.1.2 is marked as pre-release) that could be used as a stable release, it's hard to really assess what sort of stack and maintenance cost we'd be taking on between the current stable and any rewrite that may come to fruition. I'm open to re-evaluating this once a new stable version post-rewrite is released.

Olive is in beta-ish development, so I understand delaying it for official inclusion at this time. However, having used it, it seems to be very capable and intuitive. Once a more stable version (post re-write) is released, I would love to see it included in the Solus repo.
