Description

Neither runtime works for me, it doesn't go past the login/register screen with Steam one and it doesn't work at all with the native one.

My specs are AMD Athlon II X4 640/Radeon HD 5770, 4 GB of RAM.

Is this still an issue with the latest version?

@DataDrake Not anymore. It works great, for me, at least.

I have this problem on a clean system from yesterday, I could not find this thread. Can it be merged with T1478 ?

As said in the merged task, the solution seems to be to run steam from terminal with the following command, which is not optimal. It has something to with running a different locale (I run en_DK.utf-8).

LC_ALL=C steam

I have no experience with Linux development or bug-reporting, is this a Steam problem or a Solus-project problem? I hope this helps to fix the problem!

You know, come to think about it, this may actually be related to the locale. Steam didn't work for me when my default language was ru_RU (or ru_UA, don't really remember), and now, when my language is English, it works fine.

@MHolmer As a temporary fix, you can install alacarte and edit the menu entry yourself.

I believe this is a Steam specific issue - in general its "not good" @ locales.. not sure what to do on this.

Has anyone actually seen an occurrence of this in the last year? Steam has become a lot more stable in that time.
