not sure but maybe the nvidia version 415 dropped support for such an old card, please try installing nvidia-390-glx-driver-current nvidia-390-glx-driver-32bit

a couple of hours ago everything worked (on debian 9.6) nvidia 390 drivers

yea glx-driver are version 415 so install the drivers I mentioned above

Yeah they only support 600 series or newer. But then, the same was true of 410. So really, nvidia-390-glx-driver-current and nvidia-390-glx-driver-32bit are the only recent option for that card.

While the drivers may be one issue for that card, I do know steam has to be installed before the graphics drivers.
Friend had same issue. To fix it, the following was done:
sudo eopkg autoremove steam
sudo eopkg remove nvidia-glx-driver-current nvidia-glx-driver-32bit
sudo eopkg install steam
(at this point he did a reboot, not sure it was necessary)
sudo eopkg install nvidia-glx-driver-current nvidia-glx-driver-32bit
start steam
While I can't explain it... that was what fixed his problem.
This was done last night Jan 21
Just thought I'd share.

Yep, i delete steam and drivers but after that solus stopped loading in graphic mod. Solus load in text mode & not loading to graphic mod (startx testing ) spits out many errors. and did not load the driver

Sorry my English ( im I am not a native speaker) but I think I clearly state my thought. and a small request to write in short simple sentences.

if you boot to terminal (no graphic mode) type

sudo eopkg install nvidia-glx-driver-current nvidia-glx-driver-32bit

then type
reboot

should go back to graphic mode
then start steam
