Possible problem with Locale
Closed, ResolvedPublic

Description

Hello,
I apparently have a problem with locale settings on Solus.

When converting documents in Atom editor using Pandoc Convert, I get the following error returned, with this output:

[pandoc-convert]
Command failed:
/home/user/.atom/packages/pandoc-convert/node_modules/pandoc-bin/vendor/pandoc
--standalone
--to=docx
--output=/home/user/Dropbox/Atom/English/2018-06-03 doc.md.docx /home/user/Dropbox/Atom/English/2018-06-03 doc.md
pandoc: loadlocale.c:129: _nl_intern_locale_data: Assertion `cnt < (sizeof (_nl_value_type_LC_TIME) / sizeof (_nl_value_type_LC_TIME[0]))' failed.

One user suggested this might have to do with varying upper- and lower-case extensions of the locale name. E. g.:

LC_CTYPE="en_US.utf8"
LC_NUMERIC=en_GB.UTF-8

This is the respective thread on Solus Forums: https://getsol.us/forums/viewtopic.php?p=43383&sid=66ae3aec15650718576f78a81bcac6da#p43383

Could someone help, please?

Event Timeline

Looks like it is using the vendored pandoc it ships with, which might be incompatible with Solus.

Try installing our pandoc package and then there should be a config option for the plugin to specify the path to the binary that you should set to /usr/bin/pandoc

Data Drake, many thanks! I couldn't get it working for several months, and now it works.
