chromium snap apps not starting
Closed, ResolvedPublic

Description

When running chromium snap app it does not start. So I started it from the command line and I got this error:

execv failed: No such file or directory

A reinstall of chromium snap does not fix this issue.

On that launchpad bug report they're saying that core16 is no longer supported/maintained and that this is a downstream issue

The core16 channel has been closed and it was only meant as a workaround anyways.

Most likely it's caused by this T7451, which only the core team is allowed to update

glibc has been updated to 2.29 in unstable if anyone cares to test. Thanks!

JoshStrobl moved this task from Backlog to System and Configuration Fixes on the Software board.

The previous error is gone. But now instead I see the this error when launching Chromium:

snap-confine has elevated permissions and is not confined but should be. Refusing to continue to avoid permission escalation attacks

Update and reboot this is related to another issue

@Girtablulu After a update, reboot and running sudo usysconf run -f I'm back to the original error :)
