Screen Tearing in Firefox
Closed, ResolvedPublic

Description

After installing yesterday's updates (Friday 19th October 2018), I see screen tearing when dragging tabs in Firefox.
Maybe this is due to libxrender or xorg-server ?

More likely mesalib.

You can always play with hardware acceleration (enable or disable).

Disabling hardware acceleration in Firefox did not help.

This problem still exists in Firefox 63.

Is this fixed now? Firefox got tons of improvements in a year.

Yes, it's still happening in Firefox 70. I think it's due to a custom Solus Firefox configuration.

I don't think so. The only relevant config I can think of is this line: https://dev.getsol.us/source/firefox/browse/master/files/prefs.js$22
Out of curiosity, are you running MATE as your nickname suggests?

Yes I'm on Solus Mate which I installed from the Solus 3 iso.

I no longer see tearing when dragging Firefox tabs !
Maybe the mesalib update from 19.2.6 to 19.3.1 fixed this. Thanks !
