As this task has been marked Needs Maintainer for a month with nobody having stepped up to become maintainer, in addition to providing an acceptable patch for inclusion, marking as WONTFIX. Feel free to re-open when a patch has been submitted via the proper processes.

That's the thing, nobody has stepped up to be a maintainer, which is why it was closed.
Noted. That was some time ago and I'm not sure how often these requests are seen once closed.
If necessary I will look into Solus packaging at some point and see what I come up with, but it is really not my strong suit.
