Title says everything. In Plasma, scrolling pages after hitting ALT+SHIFT+F12 is much, much smoother than with compositor enabled. With compositor on, there is some jitter in the rendering.
IIRC, this issue is present in Solus Budgie too, but it's less noticeable.

In the Performance section of Firefox's settings I have "Use hardware acceleration when available" turned on, and under Browsing "Use smooth scrolling" also turned on, and it's butter smooth under Plasma and bspwm with compton.
Don't know if it makes a difference, but I'm using the amdgpu driver with an AMD RX-500 card.

I have those settings turned on too, and I am using AMDGPU as well (I have a R9 290). On Windows, the rendering is as smooth as in Solus with compositor disabled.
I would try Wayland just to do some troubleshooting but Plasma returns to SDDM immediately after login.

I think this task should be edited/marked as invalid since, as I said on IRC, it's not just Firefox but the whole system is stuttering with the compositor enabled.
