Opinions on changing the default in Plasma to double-click?
Closed, ResolvedPublic

Description

From I started using Plasma, I have always preferred to use double click over single click and it is the first modification I tend to make after a clean install. Plasma have recently moved the setting from the Mouse KCM to Desktop Behaviour which really baffles me now, leading to me having to ask in the IRC channel!!

Some distro's are actually overriding this default setting and I was wondering if maybe Solus could do it too? What are people's thoughts on it? Are you a single or double clicker?

I just can agree towards it, all other DE and Distros I used are using double click and most people are used to double click and not single click behaviour because it's confusng, specially for new users (like former windows users) who don't know where/what to look for.

So this would be a welcomed change for the default setting.

I prefer the single-click, though I imagine most people would prefer double. As long as it's an option to enable single-click, I think setting the default to double would be more inline with most users, especially new users coming from other DEs and platforms.

I think it could be achieved by adding "SingleClick=false" to the [KDE] section of

Solus GNOME Edition defaults to a single-click policy nowadays and I may do the same for the primary image. The reality is, it is more efficient once you get used to it, and easier for touchpad users.

How do you rename and select files with single-click policy?

@livingsilver94 For single selection, either a highlight or ctrl-click, which basically becomes the same behavior you'd do for multi-item selection (either dragging a highlight over files or ctrl+shift+click). Furthermore a two-finger click operates as a right click.
